Maria Emanuel Albergaria
Maria Emanuel Albergaria, born in 1962 in Ponta Delgada, Azores, began her career as a teacher before directing the award-winning film 'O Rapto dos Gémeos das Cavernas' in 1997. She has since led various artistic and educational projects, including work at Ponta Delgada Prison and the Carlos Machado Museum. In 2011, she created the 'A House in the Forest' installation. She was advisor at the National Council of Education in Lisbon between 2018 and 2019. She participated at ´Araucária` editorial initiatives 'Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco, the photographer of Maia' (2021) and 'Chá nos Açores, an afternoon in Gorreana' (2023). Since 2019, she's been a key member of the Portuguese National Plan for the Arts team.
